So tonight I took a break and sat down to watch TV. It was a bit odd not having any baseball to watch, and casually scanning the channels, I came across Julie & Julia. I've been wanting to see it for some time, so I was very excited about watching it. I wish I could say the same about the rest of the members of the house.
Not dating myself because I'm still a spring chick...well okay, maybe early summer...but I remember growing up when Julia Child was one of two cooking shows on TV. The other was Justin Wilson, bless his cajun soul. They were broadcast on PBS on Saturdays and I remember sitting on the couch with my Mom while she did her needlework. She almost always incorporated something she picked up from Justin or Julia in the next week's meal.
I began wondering if they made a movie of MY cooking adventures (I've given up on Sandra Bullock playing me in a romantic comedy), who would they cast? I put it to the wonderful Facebook fans and they said, "PAULA DEEN". And before I could stop myself I responded, "Bless your hearts!". Now mind you, Paula has some experience on me. She also has blue eyes. I have green. And I still cover up my grey hair, not letting it show naturally like a good southern woman should. And then that got me to thinking....
If YOU had a movie made of your life, would it be:a) horror film
b) science fiction
c) romantic comedy
d) thriller/mystery
e) comedy
f) slapstick
g) western
h) Hollywood would have to create a new genre for my incredible life
Who would you like to see cast to play you?
If you'd like your own copy of Julie & Julia, you are in the right place. Yes, our first ever drawing. I'm new to this, so bear with me!! To enter, just comment below on what genre your life time movie would be, and who would play the leading role. One winner will be chosen randomly. Unless of course, there is a post so compelling and hilarious (like you actually come up with a title, a tag line, and a plot), that I can't help but give it to you!
Drawing to end Friday, November 11, 2011 at 11:59 P.M. Be sure to check back Saturday to see if you won (and we'll post it on Facebook also!)

Comedy!!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't get in by the date, so no movie for me but... It would be romantic comedy. And Kiera Knightly would play me, because although I do not have her awesome British accent, I think she is beautiful and sweet and a tad bit spunky. Maybe too skinny though ;)
ReplyDeleteWell I thank you both for commenting!! Please check back next month also for a Movie of the Month give-away!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love someone with an irish accent to play me. I don't have one, I have a Texas drawl, but it's my movie, so it is all about me, right?
@ Kim, email me your address at michelle@lostonthehorizonphotography.com and I'll get the movie in the mail to you!
Peace, love and pie ladies! <3
